What's Wrong with the Yellow Ones?

Salaam Alaikum everybody!
(Means "peace be unto you")

So I've had something on my mind for a while now.  It involves yellow candies, specifically skittles and starbursts.  Why do people always seem to want to give them away?  Seriously, I feel like every time I sit next to someone that's chowing down on some bursts they pause when they get to the yellow ones and then turn to me and ask, "hey, do you want one? I don't like the yellow ones."  Heck yeah I'll take it!  It's lemony flavored!

It has caused me to ponder this odd phenomenon.  At first I thought, "maybe it is the lemon flavor that scares everyone away." But how can this be when we love our lemonade?  My new theory: stop lights. It's crazy I know.  But let's think about it: the yellow light is there to tell you, "you better be slowing down bub, cause I'm about to turn red on you."  So what do we do?  We either try to beat him by speeding up, or he forces us to hit the brakes.  Either way, we're competing with him.  Subconsciously, I believe this battle carries over to our candy.  Think about it.
